Headquartered in Cromwell, Connecticut USA, Rossi American Hardwoods is one of the leading producers and exporters of Eastern US hardwoods with long experience in supplying overseas markets with high quality hardwood species. Selective harvesting from its well managed resources – covering more than one million acres across ten states in the Eastern US – means that only top quality logs are processed for export while ensuring the long term future of those forests.

The family company founded in 1925 by Joe Rossi is still run as a family business by the Chairman and CEO - Ted Rossi, who pioneered exports more than 25 years ago. The company still adheres to the principle outlined by Joe Rossi: “Treat everyone you deal with as though they’re family”. Ted is joined today by his brothers Joe, Peter and nephew Scott.

Rossi now has production and export facilities in ten states, which provides multiple solutions for domestic and export customers. Rossi also has access to forest with Northern, Appalachian and Southern species, from which it harvests timber on a sustained basis - including FSC certified logs at Emory River in Tennessee.

Rossi’s flagship is Blue Triangle Hardwoods in Pennsylvania with a state of the art sawmill and modern kilns. Along with several other high quality sawmills, the Rossi American Hardwoods group is now one of the leading producers of American Cherry and Red Oak lumber. Various plants have capabilities for color and grade sorting and for ripping to fixed width for specific customer requirements. Recent acquisitions include Graham Lumber in Tennessee.

Rossi’s commitment to export is underlined by its active membership within the American Hardwood Export Council, on whose board Ted Rossi sits.  The company has long been a member of the National Hardwood Lumber Association, which sets the grading rules for American hardwoods. Rossi’s inspectors are trained and certified by the NHLA. Rossi is also an active member of the Hardwood Manufacturers Association.
